-  Refractory solution for Blast Furnace Cast House

The blast furnace cast house smooth operation directly decides the overall output of liquid iron from the furnace and the safe operation of the entire system.

Novaref developed technology and launched the Novadartâ slag dart product line with high density, thermal stability and melting time suitable for effective slag blocking for steel making operations of different BOF furnaces from 100 tons to 300 tons.

The types of refractory castable used for steel making furnaces are designed with high-quality refractory materials used, so they have the high thermo-mechanical and anti-corrosion properties against steel slag. A variety of prefabricated or cast-in-situ products are used for a variety of applications such as:

- Impact plates and impact pots stabilize the steel flow, used for the tundish, which are cast from Novacast-95C castable containing Cr₂O₃, ensuring high erosion resistance against steel pouring into the Tundish.

Novaref's total refractory solution for steel reheating furnaces is designed and optimized in terms of material types and grades to be used appropriately for each area in the reheating furnace, most favorable for new lining, repair and maintenance conditions:

The ignition and holding furnace have a very high thermal gradient to the hot face of furnace roof and wall refractory lining. Novaref's solution of large-sized precast blocks for suspended roof and walls are made from mullite refractory castable Novacast-65LCF and Novacast-60LCF with high thermal shock resistance, anti-peeling, and resistance with to high CO gas content in the furnace environment

The functional parts that need to be repaired and replaced periodically in the coke oven are the coke oven doors. With the frequent open-close cycles to produce coke, the refractory material of the coke oven door is required to have high thermal shock resistance, and at the same time be well resistant to the environment of high CO gas content in the coke oven. To meet this requirement, Novaref has a product line suitable for coke oven doors, which are currently being used stably in the largest coke plants in Vietnam:
